SV 10

The SV10 will ventilate any type of enclosed area. This solar ventilator removes 5 500 litres of hot air from a small house or shed each minute. 

All roof cavities can be ventilated to reduce the temperature of the hot blanket of air trapped above the ceiling which adds more heat to the space below. During the cooler weather the vent automatically switches off which allows the warm air to remain in the roof cavity thus creating that “warm blanket” effect when it is most needed. (Many other vents, both wind and solar continue to remove the hot air even through the winter.) Areas with raked ceilings or cathedral ceilings can also be ventilated by incorporating a ceiling vent which provides an aperture for removing the hot air which is trapped inside the room.

Residual fumes or odours, such as those from gas heaters or new paint, can be expelled thus improving the quality of air. (Obviously this is beneficial for anyone having a breathing-related problem.)

The efficiency of air conditioners is improved and thus running costs are decreased by removing heat from around the ducting.

Fresh air can also be circulated through dwellings, even while they are fully-closed, by combining a solar ventilator on the roof and an internal open/close vent in the ceiling. This reduces the necessity to open doors and windows therefore improving security and safety.

The SV 10 will remove as much air as 4 wind-driven vents that rotate only if the wind is blowing. Wind-driven vents will not operate when the air is still. They continue to extract warm air on cold days when it is better to have that warm layer remaining above the ceiling. Such vents generally rotate on metal bearings which tend to be much noisier than Western Solar Vents as they run on ball bearings.
